Data protection

The school « La Découverte » collects and processes personal data that you voluntarily transmit by sending an email, filling out an online form, participating in a survey, or enrolling your children in our school or other service offerings, such as holiday camps, meals, and transportation.

We create and process personal data files for our current and future students, clients, and suppliers to evaluate and process their registration and admission, as well as to manage any contractual relationship with the concerned individuals or their legal representatives.

Any collection and analysis of corresponding personal data are treated confidentially. We only share personal data with partners when it is necessary for the operation of the School’s activities. The collected personal data is not disclosed to third parties without the prior consent of the concerned individuals or their legal representatives.

This data is never sold to third parties.

 

Consent to the processing of personal data

By transmitting data to « La Découverte » School, you confirm that in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 (11) of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) which came into effect on May 25, 2018, La Découverte School, located at Avenue de Sécheron 11 – 1202 Geneva, Switzerland, as the data controller, is authorized to process and use or disclose your personal data for the purposes of conducting its educational operations and activities and sending communications related to the School and its associated services. This consent also applies to the sending of emails and SMS messages in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR.

You also agree that the School may have your personal data processed by subcontractors according to the conditions established by the GDPR. Contracts are concluded with our subcontractors and in particular with our trustee. This means they cannot use your personal data without our instructions. They do not share your personal data with any organization other than us. They keep it secure and retain it for the duration we request.

Consent is provided for an indefinite duration, subject to revocation. At the end of contractual relations, data concerning our former students is retained for statistical and quality control needs unless you formally request its deletion. When we change service providers, we formally request the previous provider to completely delete our students’ data from their files, servers, and records.

In certain circumstances, we have a legal obligation to disclose information. For example, in the event of a court order or when we cooperate with other Swiss regulatory authorities in the investigation of complaints or inquiries.

In all cases, we ensure that we have a legal basis for disclosing the information and to justify our decision.
