Spanish teacher – 10%

We are always looking for passionate talents to enrich our teaching team and support our students throughout their educational journey.

About This Position

Spanish Teacher (5 hrs/week)

Start date: From the beginning of the 2026 school year, across our three sites: primary schools in Geneva and Mies, and lower secondary/middle school
Activity rate: 5 hours per week

Schedule:

  • Tuesdays, 4:45–6:00 PM at the lower secondary/middle school (students aged 12–15)
  • Thursdays, 4:00–5:00 PM (Years 1–3) and 5:00–6:00 PM (Years 4–8) at the Geneva primary campus
  • Fridays, 4:00–6:00 PM (Years 1–8) at the Mies primary campus

Our bilingual (French–English) private school, La Découverte, located in Geneva and Mies, welcomes children into a stimulating, demanding, and caring environment. We place as much importance on academic learning as on the development of social, emotional, and relational skills.

To complete our teaching team, we are looking for a Spanish teacher who shares these values and wishes to help provide children and adolescents with a safe, warm setting conducive to their growth.

Your Role

As part of our extracurricular activities, we are seeking a Spanish teacher to join our team from the start of the school year, beginning the week of August 24, 2026.

The successful candidate will lead fun, interactive Spanish lessons for students across our three campuses.

At the primary level: Through games, songs, stories, and playful activities, introduce children to the Spanish language in a natural and enjoyable way. Offer a workshop that enables them to expand their vocabulary, develop their listening comprehension, and open up to a new culture—all while enjoying the learning process.

At the lower secondary level: Through a blend of conversation, cultural exploration, grammar practice, and creative projects, help students strengthen their language skills in a dynamic and inclusive environment. You will develop in students the confidence needed to speak and express their ideas—whether they are still building their vocabulary or already speak the language fluently.

Your Profile

You are someone who:

  • is a native Spanish speaker or has an excellent level of Spanish;
  • has teaching experience, ideally with children and adolescents;
  • is warm, dynamic, and reliable;
  • can set clear boundaries with kindness;
  • is comfortable managing a group of children/adolescents;
  • is creative, proactive, and able to take initiative;
  • is attuned to the development of children’s social and emotional skills;
  • is available during the hours indicated.

Training in the fields of childhood, youth activities, education, or social work is required.
Knowledge of French or English is appreciated within our school’s bilingual context.

What We Offer

  • a committed, welcoming, and collaborative team;
  • a human-scale working environment;
  • a school that places well-being and cooperation at the heart of its educational mission;
  • opportunities to actively contribute to school life and its development;
  • a stimulating and supportive work setting.
